Church Access Project

The Church Access Project was a Cloudesley initiative in partnership with Islington Deanery and the Diocese of London.

It ran from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2025. It was open to the eligible Church of England churches within the London Borough of Islington.

The project consisted of:

  • Access audits for all eligible Islington churches, funded by Cloudesley and delivered by Centre for Accessible Environments
  • The Church Access Fund – a non-competitive fund offering grants of up to £10,000 to progress audit recommendations
  • Learning and information sharing opportunities

Cloudesley-funded Access Audit

Eligible churches were able to request an audit, funded by Cloudesley and delivered by Centre for Accessible Environments. More information about what the audit process involved is available here:

Churches that had received an Access Audit could then apply for a non-competitive grant of up to £10,000. For more information about this, please see the Guidelines below.
