About the Organisation: |
Help on Your Doorstep works to improve health and wellbeing in disadvantaged communities by ensuring residents can access the support they need. Their approach focuses on three intertwined areas. First, they identify people who may need help but struggle to find or access services through door-to-door outreach, alongside other access channels including drop-ins, telephone contact, foodbank outreach and community events. Next, they act as a vital point of connection, referring residents to specialist advice and local services on issues ranging from housing and benefits to health and employment, offering early intervention to prevent crises. They also collaborate closely with local service providers and community organisations to deliver information, advice, and guidance that empowers individuals to overcome barriers and improve their lives. By building trust and working directly with local people, Help on Your Doorstep makes support more accessible and effective, creating visible improvements in community wellbeing. |

Project Funded |
The grant supports Help on Your Doorstep’s Connect Project. The funding enables the project to carry out sustained outreach across local neighbourhoods, proactively identifying residents who are isolated, vulnerable, or unaware of supportive services. The project provides personalised, one-to-one support and referrals to specialist services, such as for housing, benefits, employment, health, and other practical needs, helping people navigate complex systems and access the resources they require. The Connect Project also offers continuous support and early-intervention guidance for individuals facing multiple disadvantages, helping prevent crises and promoting long-term stability. In addition, the project strengthens collaboration with local community organisations, statutory services and other support providers to improve referral pathways, enhance service accessibility and deliver coordinated support. Through this funding, Help on Your Doorstep aims to reduce barriers, expand access to essential support, and foster resilience, independence, and wellbeing among individuals across the community. |
|
Impact of Project: |
The service supported 1,335 residents, either through direct contact or referral. 1,194 residents were linked to external services, reflecting a robust referral infrastructure and strong partnership working. In addition, 247 residents received direct support from Connect staff, including advocacy, guidance, form-filling, and practical assistance. Help on Your Doorstep is also a Cloudesley Partner and part of the Catalyst Fund scheme, through which individuals can receive small grants funded by Cloudesley. |

What the group says |
We feel privileged to be supported by Cloudesley as an engaged local funder whose involvement goes beyond funding alone. This partnership has strengthened how we understand and respond to the overlapping economic and health challenges faced by local residents. We work in communities where long-term illness, disability and poor mental health are more common than expected, with over half of the people we support reporting a long-term health condition. Many experience health issues alongside low income, housing insecurity and other pressures in ways that build up over time, increasing vulnerability, escalating need, anxiety and stress. Cloudesley’s support enables us to intervene earlier, strengthen everyday resilience and help people stabilise their circumstances.

The Cloudesley perspective – why did this project gain support? |
By enabling organisations like HOYD to respond quickly to individual needs, the programme helps reduce health inequalities and improve quality of life for Islington residents. HOYD’s Connect Service ensures that Islington residents in need are matched with available support they may have been unaware of or unable to access. |
