Co-ordinated by London Funders, the London Community Response Fund has been launched with over £5 million of funding committed from funders coming together to offer easy-to-access funding via a shared online portal.

The Fund initially opened for Wave 1 applications for grants of up to £5,000 focused on immediate and urgent needs (food and other essentials). A second wave of applications will open in early April for larger grants focused on the cost of service transformation and ongoing work to support communities in London.

Along with many other funders, Cloudesley is a signatory to the London Funders' statement on covid-19.  This means that we are committed to working flexibly with funded organisations and churches over the coming months and being as supportive as we can in these difficult times by:

  • Adapting activities – acknowledging that agreed outcomes may not be achieved in the timeframes originally set
  • Discussing dates – not adding pressure on organisations to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Financial flexibility – allowing organisations to use money differently, e.g. buying equipment and covering staff sickness
  • Listening – encouraging grantees to have frank conversations with us and being supportive of their needs
